The Joshua Chorale continues their Detroit Historic Churches tour, this time featuring St. Aloysius. Originally a Presbyterian church, built in 1861, the church was bought by the Bishop of Detroit and dedicated as a Catholic parish in 1873. The parish predates the first railway cars, the public library, and even the first telephone in Detroit!* The current building was constructed in 1930, whose unique tri-level sanctuary offers a majestic space to sing and celebrate the liturgy.
